A pioneering idea for a joint African beauty queens and professional models networking took off on Friday, 16 March 2007 at one of UK's most prestigious African Restaurants called Nigerian Home Kitchen located at 8/9 Brent Street, Hendon, London NW4 2EL. The dinner idea, conceived by the renowned International PR practitioner and publisher of Nigerian Newspaper and Diaspora African Magazine, Abiodun Ade Bamidele, in conjunction with Justina Mutale of Perryfield.

Promotions, organisers of the Miss Zambia UK Beauty Pageant, was well attended by many African beauty queens and professional models of African origin based in the UK. This included Miss Kenya UK, Carolina Akinyi Nyakila. The event was also co-sponsored by Nigerian Home Kitchen CEO, Mrs
Jade Otegbade Onabanjo and Suya Republik. Guests included professional models, businessmen and members of the press.

Miss Zambia UK, Flavia was leader of the Zambian beauty queens and professional models who graced the occasion. The networking dinner evening started with an hour tour around London in a Limo before ending up at the restaurant in Hendon Central, where attendees were treated to a lavish dinner of delicious African and Continental foods and drinks, courtesy of the Nigerian Home Kitchen, and "Suya" by Suya Republik, followed by an all night dance.

Other eminent guests included Eunice (1st princess miss southern Africa). The professional models included Sam (model and a singer), Ndaya Mussimi (model and a Trainee Trader), Soni, Navinya and others. A Nigerian business magnate, Chief Stanley Anyanwu gave toast with champagne, which flowed
endlessly.

Justina (CEO Miss Zambia UK) said the event was aimed at uniting Africans to bring prosperity in Africa as a whole not only Zambia. To be precise, to encourage the idea of sharing with others for a common purpose. Also, Publisher Abiodun Bamidele said the event is the beginning of a move towards a greater African unity, cooperation and collaboration amongst Africans in the Diaspora, with a view to understanding and appreciating other African peoples and cultures, which will positively affect the
socio-political lives of Africans at home in Africa.

'I thought this was a positive way forward; I met very good people from different backgrounds whom I hope will attend my fundraising events in future, Says Carolina (Miss Kenya UK).
